दिसते तसं नसते , म्हणून ........

 

_{When I was in Primary school (Age 7-8 years), our teachers used to teach a lot of traditional Proverbs during classes.} 

_{I am sure all the 1990's kids will relate with me here..............}

_{Those age-old proverbs were actually a treasure trove of wisdom expressed in very simple words.}   

Our teacher (Respected Panaskar Madam) taught us some amazingly simple Marathi Proverbs.

I was in a Marathi school (Nagar Parishad Shala Kramank 6. If any alumni reading this then, "Haat varti kara..." ). 

    

I remembered one such proverb today. It is in Marathi : 

दिसते तसं नसते , म्हणून जग फसते

So Apt... So amazing... Pure wisdom conveyed in 6 simple words....

It can guide us in taking any major decisions to double check the reality and to not believe something on face value. Heck, its a complete Risk-Management framework in itself.....!! 

The proverb is ofcourse about perceptions and propaganda. It is more useful in todays life than any other time in history, when most people try to build a narrative against you for their own selfish benefits. 

I have personally faced this many times in my life when people built wrong propaganda stories against me. Many people don't like the fact that I never follow the herd. I believe in carving my own path and it is mostly unconventional..... If someone fearlessly walks a distinctive path like this, then it creates insecurity in the minds of others. To counter it, wrong perceptions are purposefully built by the insecure people. But I chose to remain quiet most of the times. Because reacting to selfish agendas is useless. The outer world realizes the wrong propangada of selfish people as time passes by..... The reality emerges with a time lag..... So no need for us to react to such propagandas. People will try to engage you in useless fights. But the best way is to stay away.... because its not worth your time.... Keep walking the path of "Dharma" and ethics.... Simplicity is INDEED the ultimate sophistication..... The truth finally prevails, so wrong propagandas cant survive their short life span. That's why this proverb is so valuable......  दिसते तसं नसते , म्हणून जग फसते....

I did some word play to give my spin to the proverb and to extend it. (Backward and forward integration of the manufacturing process of "Perceptions" ..!!).

Here's what I think about how perceptions are "Manufactured" and "Sold" to the public by some deceptive people - 

_{"Optics are used to create perceptions....}

_{Perceptions build a narrative.....}

_{Narrative forces one to be judgmental.....}

_{Being judgmental leads to prejudice.....}

_{Prejudice drives you farther from reality & makes your mind believe in shallow Optics......}

_{Now the cycle repeats......}

_{Optics again} create perceptions…..

and the loop goes on….

In Short,    दिसते तसं नसते , म्हणून जग फसते"
